Overview

The Trimble Kestrel System provides high rate GNSS and accelerometer data, full epoch-to-epoch measurement integrity and creates a combined GNSS and accelerometer stream (200 sps high resolution displacement time series) in real-time.

The Kestrel seismogeodetic system combines seismic accelerometer recordings with GNSS geodetic measurements in one compact housing, it includes a low-power 220-chanel GNSS receiver powered by Trimble’s precise Maxwell™ 6 processor supporting tracking GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo frequencies. The GNSS receiver incorporates on-board GNSS Precise Point Positioning (PPP) using Trimble CenterPoint™ RTX™ technology with satellite clock and orbit corrections delivered over IP.

Combining GNSS and acceleration measurements using the Kalman filter algorithm to create a high- rate (200 Hz), real-time displacement with sufficient accuracy and very low latency for earthquake characteristic analysis makes the Trimble Kestrel seismogeodetic system unique and powerful.
